While children experiencing developmental disabilities are still in school, the school is required to supply the day-time and learning supports for a child to receive an appropriate education, however Coarc can still supply many additional services outside of the normal school day.
Services Coarc often provides to Children still in school:
- Services Coordination - Help manage benefits, acquire new services, prepare for any transitions, and advocate within the school system.
- Respite Services - Every caregiver needs a break now and then, Coarc can give you a break for an hour, a day, or even a weekend!
- Recreation and Camp Services - Have fun in the summer or all year long.
- Legal and Advocacy Services - Information on Special Needs Trusts, Guardianship Proceedings and other legal concerns, as well as assistance with the issues involving the school and the Committee on Special Education (CSE).
It's not only important for children to receive these services because it can improve quality of life and enhance social development, but also because the sooner Coarc gets to know someone, the sooner we can plan for supporting them when they graduate!
