COARC names Direct Support Professional of the Year 2018

The Direct Support Professional of the Year Award winner is Courtney Smith from Cardinal Hall. Over the past year Courtney has emerged as a strong team player at program. She works several assignments including serving as a bus aide and working on a team with individuals that have profound needs.

This year Courtney became med certified. Courtney enthusiastically takes on new challenges to add to her skill set. This is an asset to the Cardinal Hall program as it allows people who need med administration to have more opportunities to go out in the community.

Courtney is well liked by her peers and the people attending Cardinal Hall. She is always friendly and welcoming. She often steps in to give assurance and encouragement when someone is having a difficult time. Courtney does a nice job problem solving and is sensitive to the needs of the individuals being supported. Courtney performs her responsibilities in a professional, competent manner and is always willing to assist with other areas of program.
